Our Pastor

Rev. Alane Currier Griggs

II was born and raised just up the road in Grand Junction where I never knew a time apart from the community of faith.  I was baptized in First Baptist Church Grand Junction, spent my secondary school years at Koinonia Church (American Baptist/Church of the Brethren), and my college years at the University of Colorado Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry in Boulder, Colorado.  It was at “Wesley” that I embraced the Wesleyan synergism of faith and works - that we are not only saved from sin and death, but saved for God's high calling to make a difference in the world.  It was also at “Wesley” that I was able to clarify my call to ministry.

Meanwhile, I graduated with a Bachelor's of Music in violin performance and an emphasis in choral literature and conducting in 1987.

Seminary at Boston University School of Theology came four years later, where I received my Master of Divinity while simultaneously completing the ordination track with the Legacy Rocky Mountain Conference in 1994.

I was honored to serve the Mancos United Methodist Church for 5 years, Ogden First United Methodist Church for 14 years, and Crossroads United Methodist Church for 11 years.  I entered into retired status in 2024 under the 30 plan.

I enjoyed a year of retirement prior to my appointment here in Delta with more time spent with my violin and piano, substitute teaching in the public schools, gardening, and family. I am glad to be back in ministry partnership with a wonderful community of faith that serves its people well both inside and outside its walls.

My husband Jerry and I are the proud parents of our son, Ben, who graduated from the Aviation Technology program at CMU and his wife, Sierra, who graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in business management and marketing.
